About Trikut Ganesh Temple:
Trikut Ganesh Temple is 25 km from Nanded town, Maharashtra. This can be found in the heart of the Trikut Hills, on one end of the state located in India, and it’s stated to be 800 years old. No proper data is available about the time when this temple was built, but people around it say it was worshipped by the Nagpur King, Raghuji Raje Bhosle. King used to pray to Lord Ganesh to remove the disease from his skin and he was blessed with a healthy life.
Trikut is a small village which is blessed with Godavari river water. This temple was built on the bed of Godavari River. This temple is surrounded by extremely peaceful atmosphere in the center of the river. The devotees first take a bath in the river, purify their bodies, and then proceed to the temple. According to the statistics, during ancient times, this temple used to get submersed nearly for 6 months. Since it was getting submerged due to river flow whenever this temple submersed, the devotees constructed one more temple and performed a lord with installing dhoop, deep, and naivedyam.
Devotees who complete visiting Trikut Ganesh will visit Bhaveshwara temple which is located in Bhaveshwar Nagar. It is named as Brahmapuri however according to historical data this temple used to be worshipped as Lord Shiva temple once upon a time. Chakradhar Swami was one of the devotees of Lord Sri Krishna he meditated for 12 years for the Lord’s blessing, and a lord appeared and blessed him with a boon that he will reside here. Devotees belonging to the Sikh religion will offer special prayers to Chakradhar swami present underground.
Then devotees visit Maale Gaun, Loha taluka located 85 km away from Nanded. Here we have Khandoba temple, which is one of the forms of Lord Shiva and again one of the ancient temples. The devotees keep it clean by buying prayer items from local shops and proceed further. As per the historical data, this temple was constructed in the 12th century. We have idols of Lord Khandoba (Shiva) and goddess Malsi (Parvati). Once the devotees visit this temple, they attain Moksha.
This temple was constructed in the 19th century by Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar of Indore. The presiding deity is Lord Ganesha, represented by a 12-foot tall statue carved from black stone. In this four-armed Ganesha, the Carver has artfully seated him in a lotus flower, where the upper right hand holds a lotus flower, the upper left holds a rosary, the lower right hand has the modak (a sweet dish), and the lower left hand contains the ankusha.
Other temples that make up the temple complex are hundreds dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu and several to Lord Hanuman. There is also a museum with several artifacts from the temple and its history.
This site is highly sacred for the Hindus because it is part of India’s foremost pilgrimage destination. The Ganesh Chaturthi festival is witnessed during late August or September with many crowds of devotees thronging this sacred site.
